JUNE
The month of June is devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.Depending on the year, the entire month of June falls under Ordinary Time, represented by the liturgical color green. The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday following the second Sunday after the Pentecost. Prayers to the Sacred Heart are use during His Feast as well as within the month of June.
This period focuses on the mystery of Christ, and of His entire being – His love for mankind. The “Sacred Heart” is Christ and denotes through scripture, the infinite charity, sacrifice, the principal of the salvation, uncreated wisdom, sanctification of mankind, and that purpose, which is His divine being.
The devotion for The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the most important adherence for Catholics; as it calls upon us an attitude for reparation, conversion, love and gratitude, and to be ever aware of Jesus daily presence in our life.
Additional prayers may be offered throughout the month of June for personal devotion, and to help strengthen the relationship with God. These prayers are helpful to connect with the time of year, and can be prayed anytime throughout the month. The Liturgical Calendar guides us in prayer for Saints, and obligation days within each liturgical season. These prayers are in: categories – Saints, and Liturgical Season.
